TeeShot version 1.7.2 has been uploaded to the iTunes application store and should be available within the next week. Here’s what’s new:
- Fixed a couple of bugs with iPhone OS 2.2 including a drawing issues in the scorecard and making tapping fairway, up & down and sand save work in group scoring again
- Fixed a calculation in scorecard that would make your net score off by one.
- Added scrambling percentage to both round and global statistics
- Added a round type so you can say if the round is a standard round, tournament, scramble, practice, off season. Only tournament and standard rounds are used in handicap calculation and the default is standard. You can change this in the Round Details page for existing rounds
- Added the ability to lock a round to prevent accidental editing while you’re looking at previous rounds. Locking is available in the Round Details page as well.
- When going to the Round Scoring page, it will automatically scroll to the first un-scored hole
- Changed the keyboard in the group scoring page to be the number keypad. The top right corner button is now Done when the keypad is available
- Rounds now support up to 5 players. Warning – fivesomes can slow play time and annoy the group behind you
After this release (assuming no big issues show up) I am going to start working on TeeShot 2.0 which should have a bit of a new look and a bunch of stuff that people have been asking for and I expect it to be ready in time for the spring season.
Stay tuned and I’ll see ya on the first tee!

Keep up the great work Chris, teeshot live is getting even better each time. I keep looking forward to play against a friend and see that match score discounting the handicap of each player automatically hole by hole. Is this already possible? Will it be available in 2.0? Can´t wait to see it. Thanks

They bounced it because of the mail icon. I updated the icon and resubmitted. Hopefully it will be up soon, though the online service is closed for about 4 days around Christmas so if it isn’t there by Tuesday, it will probably be next week.

the guys over at ushandicap are a joke. don’t waste your money on them. i have not been able to upload rounds to them a couple of times and after several emails they only emailed me back one time to basically ask me, “what are you referring to?” after i explained the issue in the email and that’s a quote from them. after re-explaining the problem to them, no response. what a joke.
sorry, on a different note chris, did your update get rejected again? new eta? thanks and happy new years

Mike, yeah, oobgolf is what i use now and it’s great and the devs are very responsive on their forum

Hi Eric,
Yep, Apple rejected it because the + and – icons on the hole scoring page look like the add contact icon. They said I should make it darker. This is, of course, the same icon that has been there since version 1.0. I have resubmitted it again and sent some mails to the manager of the developer program. It is getting a bit absurd.
Sorry about the troubles you’ve been having with USHandicap.com, though I’m glad that oobgolf is working well for you. I hope the USHandicap guys get their issues worked out before the season starts. I know this is the slow season for them.

Come on Apple – this IS absurd!

I finally bit the bullet and re-created the download and preferences icons so they are not icons from Apple. It seems to me that an icon that launches Safari to do something should look like Safari but they seem to disagree. 1.7.2 has been uploaded again with these new icons.
Keeping my fingers crossed…

You should use the Internet Explorer logo then!

LOL. Then I’d have Microsoft trademark folks all over me, and trust me they’d know, there are a lot of iPhones at Microsoft

It is almost a month since Dec 12 and Apple is sitill holding the updtae. I have seen other apps that update very ferquently seems that they are more stric with teshoot sw than other developers.

I’m Glad somebody else agreed with me on Ushandicap. They are a joke! My rounds don’t load, no response from my emails and the Handicap score is way higher than obogolf or Teeshot. Waste of money if you ask me.
Later Guys
