While we’re waiting for version 1.7.2 to get released, progress has continued on TeeShot version 2.0. There is lots of new stuff in there, much of which is based on feedback from users. Improvements to GPS tracking, statistics, hole scoring entry, shot scoring entry and more. I’ll be posting more detailed info in the coming weeks, but I figure with springtime just around the corner, I’ll show you a sneak peak at a couple of the new things in 2.0.
The most obvious change, though, is an update to the user interface. Now instead of a toolbar along the bottom, there is a tab bar which lets you switch between the different parts of TeeShot without losing your current location in other places. The bar is split into five sections, Home, Courses, Statistics, Rounds and Players letting you view and manage each of these independently of the others, so if you’re in the middle of a round and you want to check your statistics or settings, you can jump there and back without having to dive back into your rounds again.

TeeShot 2.0 Courses List
The statistics feature has also been updated with the ability to filter the rounds used in the statistics. This lets you look at your rounds this year vs. last year, see how you’ve done over the past few rounds compared to overall, etc. There is more to come here but this is a step towards making the statistics more flexible while maintaining simplicity.

TeeShot 2.0 Statistics Filtering
This is just a quick taste of what is to come in 2.0. In upcoming posts, I will go over changes in group scoring, shot by shot scoring, and the much improved GPS tracking and visualization. Stay tuned for more information.

Chris, it is looking great!
One suggestion for the e-mail of the scorecard, I think it would make more sense to have the fairways hit instead of up& downs, Or if possible have the option of what is to be included on the e-mailed scorecard.
Keep up the good work, and Apple hurry up with 1.7.2

like the update to the bottom bar a lot. It’s great. And as a quick suggestion, you should have color choices in a settings page. I would choose the blue anyway though, so good choice.

Good work on 1.7 and looking forward to 2.0!
Two ideas ( maybe already covered by others):
- The stats are great, but could we have a way to track them over time eg. To monitor avg putts. I guess it could track after each new round is added for example.
- Any way we could see the stats for another player?I guess it’s a licence issue so everyone had their own copy ? But maybe you could have the option to “buy” an extra person into your copy eg. I enter my wife’s rounds onto my iPhone but she doesn’t get to see her stats.
Thanks!!

Chris,
2.0 looks great and once again Tee Shot extends it’s lead over the competition. The options in statistics will be great for people like me, who got a new set of irons, so now I’m recalibrating my sense of how far I hit each club. If I can look back at only the last few months I can evaluate only the new club distances.
I just used 1.7 for the second time. I have to say using the group scoring number pad works very fast, easy and clear. This alone makes 1.7 a great improvement in my opinion.

Looks a super programme but does it cope with EGA handicaps?

Hi Alison,
Yes, you can choose between USGA and EGA handicaps and it will handle the subtle difference between the two.

Hi
Love the app, particularly stats. But cant seem to work out how to use rangefinder. Can you help?
Also how many rounds need to be played before it gives you a theoretical handicap?
Also it isnt giving me stats for ‘best front and back nines’ but not sure why not?
Cheers
Martyn

Hi Martyn,
Check out the shot by shot scoring section in the TeeShot Documentation page at http://www.teeshotlive.com/teeshot/documentation for information on using GPS in the current release.
You need at least six 18 hole rounds to get the first handicap index calculation. I don’t think we have a stat for best front and back 9, though we do have high and low score for either a 9 or 18 hole round.

Hi Chris
Your software has great potential and Im actually pleased with the fact that Apple dosent support additional charges for upgrades otherwise it will be a never ending story and I personnally would not by any software.
One of your features is the course builder and since Im from Europe its a great tool. No fun having online scores on the course if you cant find you own.
Suggetions:
Ability to see FW hits, GIR when sending scorecard to friends after the round. Now you only see score and putts.
Was going to say improved statistics but that already underway as I understand.
e-mail is not importet into Teeshort if you select a player from you contacts!
When uploading to oobgolf.com statistics are not transfered unless that course exsist on oobgolf. European courses dosent exsist on oob and its annoying to create a new course on obb when that already done in Teeshot.

Hallo Chris
Within the scorecard the results (Score brut and net, Putts, Stableford) are only given by total, but it would be wishfull to see them by hole (now, not only after sending to the server)!
And as extended scorecard or separate I’d like to see the statistic for the round hole by hole; FW, UD, SS etc.
Thanks for short answer on this
Gert
